You should do the configuration before entering any listings.

1. Setup your taxonomies (categories)
   
2. Setup your google map keys
   
3. Give the proper permissions (remember to also give upload image and view image files.
   
4. enable the blocks you'd like to usee (feature, search ...)
   
5. you may want to move the uListin menu around.

The next section explains some of the key configuration settings.
Goto: Administer->Site Configuration->uListing Management

The first thing you should do is get a google map Key if you plan on using google maps.

uListing License Key: You should have your key when you purchased the software.

Google Map Url: Do not change this value
Google Map Key: You will need your own key from google. The url for getting your own key is - http://code.google.com/apis/maps/signup.html

Google Map Size : size of your map

Max Featured Listing: The number of listings to show in the featured block.

Max Price Search : Select the max price for the select box in the search block

Currency: The default currency symbol to use.

Measurement Unit: The defaul unit to use

Hide Listing Categories: checkthe categories that you don't want to show up when users are viewing the listings.

Hide Listing Fields: check the fields you don't want users to see when viewing or entering new listings. Bascially, hide fields you don't want to use.

Defult Location: Set the default location, if you lock it, the uers will not be able to change the country and prov/state.
